When celebrities are spotted on subways, they're usually just going from point A to point B as quietly as possible. The opposite was the case recently with singer and former "General Hospital" heartthrob Rick Springfield.
The man behind "Jessie's Girl" belted that hit and more?from some of the city's finest subway platforms for crowds of surprised -- and vocal -- fans. (Check out more videos over at Gothamist.)
Although the sing-alongs appear to be impromptu, they were somewhat planned. Springfield was promoting his new album, "Songs for the End of the World," which was released earlier this week.
The 63-year-old rocker/actor also has a documentary about his fans, "An Affair of the Heart," playing in New York from Oct. 10-16. Check out the trailer below.
