The Voice Recap: Semifinal Surprises?

The remaining eight contestants on The Voice – two from each coach's team – gave what could be their final performances during Monday's semifinals.

With the season finale set for next Tuesday night, audience votes plus scores from their respective coaches will determine which four singers advance.

Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera, Adam Levine and Cee Lo Green will have a chance to weight their hopefuls' chances tonight. Who will they favor?

From Team Blake, Erin Willett became overwhelmed with emotion after a powerful performance of David Guetta's current radio hit, "Without You."

"I just emotionally kind of got lost," a tearful Willet, who lost her father during the competition, revealed to MC Carson Daly after her performance.

"I would give anything to have a tenth of the talent that you have," said Shelton, in what may be his highest praise. "Your singing is unbelievable."

Shelton, whose own father passed away in January, added: "But more than that, Erin, I'd give anything to have the strength that you have."

"I know what that song means to you," the country star added. "It means the same thing to me right now also. And you held it together."

Still, it was Blake's other semifinalist, Jermaine Paul, whom Shelton described as the "frontrunner" after a heartfelt take on Journey's "Open Arms."

"Jermaine is the guy," Shelton told his protégé. "Every time you get on stage, you separate yourself a little bit more from the rest of the pack."

Adam Levine begged to differ. He told Team Cee Lo's Juliet Simms, who closed out the night with James Brown's "It's a Man's Man's Man's World," simply "You're the one to beat."

Aguilera, on the other hand, had high praise for Team Adam's Katrina Parker. "I just encourage Adam to really look at you," she told Parker.

Her version of The Fugees' "Killing Me Softly" will guarantee that.

"I know that probably the obvious, predictable choice for Adam would be to be swayed towards [his other finalist, Tony Lucca]," she said.

"But I'm telling you, take a look at Katrina Parker because she's a star."

Aguilera, who donned a tiara for the evening for some reason, really does not favor her one-time fellow Mousketeer Lucca for some reason.

also enthusiastic about her own protégés, Chris Mann and Lindsay Pavao.

America's votes and the coaches' points will be awarded tonight, narrowing The Voice field to four. Who do you think will make the finals?
